This training provides a detailed overview of MSC’s configuration management policy; MSC’s Configuration Data Management Program (CDMP); key elements of configuration management; roles and responsibilities of key configuration management players ashore and afloat; MSC’s configuration management programs, including Configuration Data Manager’s Database – Open Architecture (CDMD-OA), Configuration and Logistics Information Program (CLIP), ShipCLIP, Corrective Maintenance and Logistics System (CMLS), and Configuration Status Accounting (Availability Support (AS), Integrated Logistics Overhaul (ILO), configuration change reporting, diminishing sources reporting, and defective material reporting). This training emphasizes the manner in which MSC’s configuration management policies and practices affect the day-to-day activities of N7 personnel.
This training is an abbreviated version of the 3-hour MSC Configuration Management training that has been tailored to the training needs and time constraints associated with SSU personnel attending training in CONUS. This training is also appropriate for other personnel who require only a cursory understanding of MSC Configuration Management policy and practices.
